On Monday, I drove to the Boles Aero to deal with some rodent issues there. They were eating my cool chicken apron and my handwoven Pendleton rug. It had been snowing there, and my father was there working on the cabin. So he was able to give me a ride up the mountain on the snowy roads. The cabin now has all of the doors and windows in, and the roof is protected against the elements.
On Monday I got most of the rodent issues dealt with and did a little more on Tuesday morning. But then I was available to help dad with the cabin work. He is working on installing the electric outlets and switches. I was enlisted to install some. I did these three, but later we realized that dad’s markings were not very clear on the right one so I had to redo that one. But I was feeling proud of finally directly getting to help with the project.
Here are the front windows. Unfortunately it was foggy and snowing all day so there was no amazing view.
And here is the temperature inside.
There was a winter weather warming which was correct. It started snowing harder in the evening.
It was his actually 80th birthday on Tuesday so I tried make it nice for him. I made a steak dinner, and we watched a Clint Eastwood movie on a DVD on the 12 volt TV.
I also made a dairy free and wheat free chocolate birthday cake. It seemed to be a big hit.
Overnight it rained quite a bit, and this morning the skies cleared. The sunrise was pretty.
Unfortunately it also became quite windy. So I was glad that we were leaving. Here’s the inside of our Boles Aero trailer ready for my departure. I pulled up everything that I thought any rodents might harm. But I think they are probably gone for the winter at this point. In the spring we will make more efforts to eliminate their potential entry points.
Here is the cabin with the moon in the sky.
Driving through Cle Elum on the way home, there were two rainbows in the sky.
It was a quick but productive trip. Plus I think Dad enjoyed his birthday more with me being there.

I can imagine the beautiful views!
I am glad you can imagine them!
