This is the blog for our little farm in Skagit county. Here we have Shetland sheep and Nigerian Dwarf goats. In addition we have donkeys, cattle, pigs, chickens, geese, and peafowl. The blog describes the weekly activities here.
I spent today cleaning out with old bedding in the barn with a tractor and a pitchfork. I spread two very large loads with the manure spreader. The barn is almost completely cleaned out and ready for winter. We’ll start feeding hay in the barn in about one week. We’re supplementing the grass in the fields now for the critters as it’s not growing much anymore.
Today is a gorgeous quiet day after a very blustery weekend. The leaves are starting to change, and the ground is getting muddier. Just a few more chores, and we’ll be ready for the critters to spend most of the next 6 months in the barn.
