Another Soggy Day

Today I went to the chiropractor, physical therapy, the feed store and the vet, and in each place the topic of the weather came up.  Everyone expressed some degree of despondency over it.  The best comment was a customer at the feed store.  When I was standing under the eaves waiting for my order, I commented that it was getting a little old (referring to the downpour at the moment), and he said it is way past old.

Anyway I bought mineral salt blocks, and the bucks are enjoying theirs.  We also had Big Easy disbudded under sedation.  Here he is recovering from his traumatic day.

And our peahen started setting on her clutch of eggs in a nest.  This is a first for us so I am excited.  She kicked out the duck egg that was in the nest.  Interesting that she could tell the difference.

If you get some chicks, let me know!
I can totally relate on the weather. My goats have muddy legs, too. Enough is enough!!! One day of sun just doesn’t cut it. WHEN is mother nature going to bring back spring, I sure hope sooner than later:)

I have a goose sitting on a nest, but now another one is wanting to take it. They’ve moved all the eggs to a new location, so I don’t know if any goslings are going to hatch. I also have a peahen sitting. Hope you get some babies.

    • Our geese have giving up sitting, which is good because we have too many already. But this is the first time the peahen has sat. I really hope to see babies too although I am not sure what we will do with them.

Hope you had a chance to take in the sunshine Friday- I know it really lifted my spirits!

    • Unfortunately I did not. I was recovering from night shift work plus I have done something to my legs so that they are incredibly painful and it is difficult to walk. Maybe the sun will come back another day?
