Last Disbudding

So this is the last disbudding we should ever have to do.  We brought three kids into the veterinarian this afternoon to have their horn buds burned off with the help of sedation and local anesthesia.  These goats were not nearly as sedated as the last three even though the dose was the same.  They fought through the whole episode.  The two bucklings were banded as well.  Here they are sort-of sleeping it off currently in the dining room.

Disbudded sedated kidsI finally finished skirting this spring’s fleeces too, a grey Shetland and a white Cotswold.  Nice to have that task done.  All the fleeces currently for sale are at our Fiber for Sale page.
