So while I was running around today getting a mammogram, visiting my grandmother, demonstrating goat milking, getting a dead laptop fixed, and going to the chiropractor, Tom brought our three turkeys to the butcher. Yesterday I had gently walked them into a pen and this morning convinced them to go into large kennels. We loaded the kennels on the mule and then into the truck. Tom brought them in and eventually came home with them in plastic bags. One was 21 #, one was 28# and one was more than the 30# limit of their scale. Here is the 21# bird all cooked up.
And here is our all-farm-raised turkey dinner.
It was really good.
PS While I was with my grandmother and on the way home, I was focused on the news of the shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School. It is incredibly sad and scary. I wish the very best for the families affected.
Thanks for visiting Grandma, and bringing her flowers. She remembered that you brought them.
You are welcome. I am glad she remembered.
