Onion Soup

We bought a large bag of Walla Walla Sweet onions and some corn near Naches on Tuesday. So yesterday I had to figure out something to cook with them, particularly since the Walla Walla onions do not store well. So I decided to try this NYT recipe. I ended up only using 4 onions because they are so big. I put toast on Tom’s bowls but only cheese on mine. Here they are coming out of the broiler.

I decided to just boil the corn. Not the best pairing in the world but it worked out. I had perry with my soup and Tom had cider of course.

It was really yummy and sweet with the onions. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

I’m glad you enjoyed your recipe! I can’t eat onions, so I’ll pass on this one!
