This was our amazing farm dinner Thursday evening.
First I started the green beans. It is another NYT recipe, I am afraid, but I am able to see it without a subscription. I used 1# of our green beans (we have lots), a dozen cherry tomatoes I managed to find in our tomato jungle, and our abundant mint. Here it is after cooking, but before the mint went in.
Then I started the Foil Packs. I used our top sirloin steaks and our potatoes. Our steaks are about 1 inch thick so I cut the potatoes to about 1 inch too. I cooked it in the oven. It took a little longer then 25 minutes to cook, but Tom likes his meat medium-well done. He thought the potatoes could have been cooked more so maybe next time I will boil them for 5 minutes first. I did broil the opened packs for three minutes which helped. Here is the dinner all assembled.
The meat was really tender and flavorful. Th potatoes were good, and the beans were amazing but different from our usual green beans. So a tremendous success with lots of leftovers to enjoy.
