Birds’ Progress

The birds developed quite a bit while we were away.  Fluffy had hatched one chick just before we left.  She hatched three more while we were gone.  I moved them to an old rabbit hutch and added two of her chicks that had hatched previously.  They seem to be settling in.

The remaining chicks are growing quite well.  I took the 5 largest orange ones out, banded them, put them in a crate, and moved them to the chicken pen.  They are basically the same size as the donated roosters so should do fine.

The remaining chicks will have a little more space and sanitation.  I cleaned out all of the shavings and replaced them with new ones.  Hopefully they will continue to thrive.
