Thank You, Seattle Mariners!!!!!

The ending of the ALCS was a little crushing.  But today Dan Wilson was named The Sporting News AL Manager of the Year as voted by his peers.  It is incredibly well deserved, and I am so proud of how well the team did this year with enthusiasm and talent.  It was a joy to watch.  Plus we got to watch Cal Raleigh’s 50th home run!  The last game of the regular season happened while we were flying home from Philadelphia.  But I recorded it on Tivo in case I wanted to watch it.  It was a loss, I suspect because they were resting their players after winning the AL West title.  But it turned out it was the last broadcast for Root Sports Northwest, the Mariners broadcaster since 1994.  So I watched the end of it to see their final reporting.  And it was quite emotional.  So I saved the Tivo recording and finally had the headspace today to watch it again and record it using my phone for my posterity’s sake.  I thought I would share it.

But they had a tribute to the Mariners’ regular season that I thought was well done.  So I recorded it as well.  I am sorry about the weird colors in the recordings, but I think you can still appreciate them.

Looking forward to seeing what the Mariners team can do next year but also sad the Roots Sports team will not be with us.  But hopefully their broadcasters will still be with us in a another format.
