We have been taking some short respites from the work here. On Saturday Tom went on a ride with his vintage motorcycle club with only small bikes. Here are some of them.
Here are some more. Tom had a good time.
I got to do the farm chores that morning so he could go. The pigs are enjoying their new space and the mud hole.
The sheep and alpaca also seem to be doing well.
On Sunday we visited Five Columns Restaurant for their brunch. I had some Greek coffee with Koulourakia cookies. It was really good.
Then we headed to the new Pickford Cinema on Bay Street to catch the Grateful Dead Movie. That was fun to see the old footage and hear the music again.
Yesterday we went to the Mariners game in Seattle. We saw the Edgar Martinez statue.
It was hot out (the car thermometer said 91 degrees), and I had a tilt table test that morning. I didn’t realize it, but apparently it can make you feel sick for 1-2 days afterwards. So I wasn’t doing well. Plus my ankle is still bothering me some. So once we got in the stadium, we took the elevator meant for people with disabilities so I could find a seat in the shade sooner rather than later. What we didn’t realize is that we got in before everyone else. We had the stadium to ourselves apart from workers who were trying to get ready.
I did feel better, and we took the escalators to the 300 level. I caught the view up there with the pano views. It was impressive.
Then we headed to Moto pizza to try it out.
The pizzas were good and fun to eat.
We took a different elevator down to the 100 level, and it is decked out like the locker room. Here is Tom at Logan Gilbert’s locker.
Then we got to watch the game. Bryce Miller was pitching well.
We got a pano view of the game.
Then Cal Raleigh got his 50th home run. That was fun to see. Here he is running to home plate.
Today was back to the farm, doing the chores. Afterwards I made a drink from the Doctors and Distillers book I recently finished. I never found a drink that was meant to cure sprained ankles. But I made the first drink lasted in the book, a Singapore Sling. It is from the first chapter which reviewed the spices that were thought to be medicinal that became the liqueurs and bitters in our cocktails now. This drink has Benedictine and Angostura bitters that contain a multitude of secret spices that were thought to cure.
So this plus a bath and a book were another little break today.
