This is the blog for our little farm in Skagit county. Here we have Shetland sheep and Nigerian Dwarf goats. In addition we have donkeys, cattle, pigs, chickens, geese, and peafowl. The blog describes the weekly activities here.
I became sick yesterday and slept in, but despite this felt compelled to get some work done here. It’s supposed to start raining tonight so Tom and I mowed the entire back yard, weeded the garden, put the tomato cages up, and burned some branches we had cut off the fence. Then we did the animal chores and I milked three does. I plan on making some more cheese tomorrow.
The whole day we were working it was snowing cottonwood seeds. They were clogging the air intake of the mower and covering the ground we just mowed. It was kind of magical though having snow on a warm sunny day with butterflies and flowers.
