Savory Beef Stew

I used the below recipe from the above cookbook to make this stew for dinner Monday night. I used our soup bones. I cut the decent meat off them for the recipe. Then I made 4 quarts of broth with the bones. And I have plenty of leftovers after for the dogs. I also used our turnips still with green leaves under the snow.

Here is the stew all cooked up. I added the dumplings for Tom’s benefit.

This was a perfect meal for a cold winter’s night.
