As I was coming home from work this morning, my brain was telling me to listen to this song, 4th of July by X.  So when I arrived home I found this version on my phone and played it.

We did the animal chores this morning.  I noticed this chick sitting on the watering container.

Today was the day to rotate the grazing animals.  The alpaca doesn’t quite understand gates so it takes him little longer.

Tom bought me a watermelon yesterday so I made a Watermelon and Feta Salad.  It was really good and summery.

I did have some leftover watermelon so shared it with the pigs,

and the chickens.

Our corn is not quite knee high.  This is the tallest corn we have, but the rest are shorter.  This was expected after rodents ate our corn starts initially.

But the rest of the garden is coming along.  There are plenty of weeds though too.

Then I watched Mariners’ baseball while I processed the pie cherries.

The fireworks started at 3 PM so we got Steve into the house.  July 4 is hard on him.

Then I watched the first Rocky movie while I continue to work on the cherries.

Meanwhile Tom picked even more of our cherries.  Aren’t they pretty?

Then I watched fireworks on TV while I kept working on the cherries.

I did make a cherry pie with some of them though.

So that is my July 4th.  Mostly hunkering down, trying to keep the farm and animals safe.  I hope you all are having a good Independence Day!
