Our November Week

On Tuesday, this bobcat was stalking our place.

After work on Wednesday I stopped at our post office to pick up mail.  I love our post office, and it was reinforced when someone put out free apples with a nice message outside.  Made me smile.

Here’s Roscoe enjoying our chair on Thursday.

On Saturday our grandkids came over to visit.  After dinner we were going to have ice cream for dessert.  Piper chose one of these ice cream sandwiches, but she wanted whipped cream and sprinkles, so here it is.

Then we went upstairs to play my old Sega video games. Piper tried on some of our masks and looked mighty cute.

Then we played some other games.  We played Connect Four and Chinese Checkers.  Here are William and Piper playing.

The bald eagles have been very apparent recently, rebuilding their nests.  This one was calling for quite a while from this cottonwood.

This morning I put out the jack-o’-lantern for eating.  Diddley seemed to enjoy it.

Our young peacock is starting to get his feathers in.  He is looking pretty.

We put a stone on Jemima’s grave.

And then explored out back.  Piper and Tom were on one quad, and William was on another.  I was walking Ryeleigh, and Steve was walking on his own.  Everyone had a great time.  The weather was beautiful.

Lunch was Tom’s famous (to the kids) grilled cheese sandwiches.

Then it was time to watch the Seahawks game.

Piper was less interested, but she got to color.

William had been asking about the sheep on my spinning wheel. It is Jocko, one of my favorite rams.  He asked if he had ever met him so I looked up when Jocko died.  And it was only 5 days after William was born.  I had never realized how close these events were.

I made Seahawks colored rice krispies treats for the kids.  The recipe called for sprinkles so Piper put them on.  They were good but colored your mouth when you ate them.

After the kids left, I put a new clock mechanism in a clock that my grandmother had embroidered but the clock had died.  So it is back in action again.  Nice to see.

That is my week.  It is a busy one ahead.

P.S. I recently finished this book that I had received a bit ago from my aunt Chloe.  It was quite interesting and recommended.

Very nice post, Donna! The pictures are all. great, and it’s always fun to see Tom and the kids on the quads. My daughter in Idaho has a quad, and I’ve ridden on it with her. It’s fun. However, their property isn’t as beautiful as yours. Being in southern Idaho, it’s very dry.

I like the clock you put the new works in! What a nice design!

Did the Seahawks win their game?

Thanks Jeanne! It is fun riding quads. There are plenty of blackberry vines here though that I had to machete so they could ride around. That was a little challenging with the beagle, but I managed not to cut the leash. Unfortunately the clock is not keeping good time this morning. I will have to play with it more and see if I can get it to work properly. The Seahawks did win!

busy week! hard to believe that it’s been that long since Jocko died. nice to see sweet little Diddley enjoying a punkin’ 🙂

It has been busy. It’s been a while since we had Jocko. Sad that William never got to meet him. He was the only one who liked the pumpkin, but glad he did.
