Yesterday we moved the pigs to a larger enclosure. Tom was trying to entice them with food.
It wasn’t terribly successful initially. They were running around, checking every thing out. The cows and sheep were curious.
But finally we got them in.
It is a much larger area for them. And for the moment it is not stinky.
They did enjoy some blackberries.
Tom was spreading the straw in their new-to-them shelter. I got good butt views.
In other news, Roscoe is going outside a little more. I am always nervous if he will come back, but he always does. This time he was hanging out on the back porch, which is a positive sign.
But Wally was still watching him.
And I found this yesterday. We think this is pretty cool.
And this is a dahlia from a bulb a nurse I work with gave me. Pretty, right?
For dinner, I made Pork Roast With Roasted Jalapeño Gravy. It was really good. The pork and green beans are from our farm, and the jalapeños were from a local farm, Verduras Organicas Mexicanas.

You might have to shout ‘ Soo Wee’ just right 🐷 🙂
I will need to practice that!
Who is Roscoe? Obviously a cat, but I think I missed his origin story
He first showed up on the back of our property in November. https://schoonover-farm.com/2024/11/20/bad-back-roscoe-and-a-bomb-cyclone/ In December he went missing for a bit https://schoonover-farm.com/2024/12/01/our-thanksgiving-week/ but later Tom was able to start petting him https://schoonover-farm.com/2024/12/08/christmas-preparations/ Just before Christmas I was able to get close to him https://schoonover-farm.com/2024/12/20/mohai-and-a-birthday/ Wally started checking on Roscoe in mid January https://schoonover-farm.com/2025/01/14/our-mid-january-farm/ Finally in February with a snow he jumped into Tom’s arms in the backyard, and we were able to move him into the house https://schoonover-farm.com/2025/02/05/snow-and-roscoe/ We set him up in the library upstairs so hopefully a truce could be established between him and Wally https://schoonover-farm.com/2025/02/26/late-february/ He has gradually moved downstairs and Wally is not attacking him anymore. So we have a relatively cat truce at home now. That is Roscoe’s story with us so far.
piggies are getting big! bet they enjoyed those blackberries 🙂
They are getting big. They love their new digs (and are literally digging it up). They are not picky eaters like some pigs we’ve had. So far they like everything.
Those pig have really grown!! They must eat like pigs! ;-). Those are neat pictures! I know you take good care of all of your animals. Thanks for sharing! I like the photo of Roscoe sitting on the railing. He looks quite regal.
They do definitely eat like pigs. I try to take care of the animals. I do sometimes fail though, and it is sad. Roscoe does look regal at times. I love having him around.
